Willowbrook House

Willowbrook House is a nursing home based in the St. Mellons area of Cardiff. The family run home has been providing the highest standard of care to their residents since opening 10 years ago.
Our brief was to update the Willowbrook House brand identity to reflect the professionalism and quality of care behind the service. We needed to create a clear identity that appealed to people of all ages including an ever-growing audience of younger people who may have elderly family or loved ones in need of professional care.
We wanted the brand to feel calming and inviting. Pastel greys and blues are used for the core colour palette and other soft shades were also used throughout the signage and wall graphics within the home to help distinguish the different areas of the large building.
For the logomark we designed a W with a willow leaf motif, which was developed into a pattern and design element used throughout the brand identity.
We commissioned and directed a photoshoot to help illustrate the quality of life that prospective residents should expect when choosing Willowbrook. The photoshoot was carried out with permission from all patients and their families ensuring dignity and respect was maintained throughout.
Willowbrook House’s existing website was functional but needed to be streamlined and visually updated to keep it consistent with the new branding. We stripped everything back and built a brand new website from scratch with the aim of creating a much more user-friendly experience.
Each area of Willowbrook House is named in the style of a residential street to help further reinforce the sense of familiarity and community within the home. Each name incorporates a different tree, following the theme throughout the whole brand. We chose a selection of soft colours to differentiate each ‘street’ and also created large scale wall graphics of silhouetted streets to indicate the entrance of each area.
