Getting people active while raising money for an incredible charity is a cause that we can 100% get behind. It was our pleasure to work with Tour de Gwent, a scenic and family-friendly cycling event organised by St David’s Hospice, right here in Parade’s home city of Newport.
As a sub-brand of St David’s Hospice, it was important for Tour De Gwent to have its own distinct identity while motivating people to support the work undertaken by the charity. We began the project by tidying and simplifying its existing logo, incorporating a hand-drawn inky typeface to bring life and movement to the sporting event. Bespoke illustrations drawn in a similar style brought consistency to the brand and helped to reaffirm Tour de Gwent’s welcoming, family-friendly nature.
To make Tour de Gwent’s text-heavy website more accessible and attention-grabbing, our creative team incorporated large-scale photographs and a bright colour scheme. Key messages were picked out and presented in the brand’s bold hand-drawn typeface to be used throughout the event’s marketing campaign – from social media to printed material, our work helped inspire hundreds of charitable cyclists to come along for the ride.
