We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: We love working on a food brand, and this brief was another delight to get our teeth stuck into.

Ostuni are suppliers of high quality, freshly made foods across South Wales and beyond. They fulfil bespoke orders on a range of sumptuous goodies including celebration cakes, custard slabs and treat boxes as well as provide catering services for personal and corporate events. They also sell wholesale direct to businesses.

Business owners, Marco and Rebecca Attorre, who are no strangers to the catering trade are part of a wider Italian family, originally from Ostuni in the Apulia region of Italy. Ostuni (the place) is hugely significant in their lives and of course where the brand name derives. The Attorre’s wanted us to capture the essence of the place so that their historical roots were reflected in their brand.

Authentically Ostuni

With its uniform white-washed buildings and vibrant colour pops who wouldn’t be inspired by this beautiful city? As much as we would have loved to head over to the warmer climates of Italy for a research trip and Aperol Spritz, we had to rely heavily on Google for this one, taking inspiration from the tiles & gothic architecture of the city, to create a range of brand patterns and assets.

Beautiful patisserie deserves beautiful packaging

Having seen the team in action - knocking out their beautiful patisserie creations at the Ostuni catering unit, it was obvious the packaging of the product needed to be just as beautiful, while keeping costs in mind.

We achieved this with a branded greaseproof, box seals, a range of colourful stickers and a set of pastel pink stationery to go along side, keeping things relatively simple and letting the cakes do the talking.

With Ostuni's online presence, we let the cakes do the talking, keeping online content predominately photographic based. For times when more text-based posts were needed, we created a series of templates where photography, brand elements & colours could work in harmony with each-other.
