Jolly Jumper Day 2018

14th December 2018

It’s Christmas time once again and with it comes indulgence, parties and over-spending. Here at The Estates Office it also means it’s time for our annual Jolly Jumper day and to do our bit for charity. Organised by the Parade Design team for the past 3 years, we ask all the lovely tenants of the building for a raffle prize donation per company and try and sell as many raffle tickets as we can to raise money for St. David’s Hospice Care.

This year we had a good turnout of people adorning their most festive knits as we gathered for mince pies, coffee and cakes and listened to the classics by Shakin’ Stevens and The Pogues. After the standard Christmas chit-chat (where are you spending Christmas this year? Are you all sorted for Christmas?) it was time for the all important raffle, with lucky winners bagging prizes like of a box of Budweiser, bottle of Moët, beer pong and a NutriBullet. Some great prizes this year we have to say! Thank you to all those who donated, including Hutchings and Thomas, Roberts Limbrick, Financial Planning Wales, Foxwood Recruitment, David Barnes PR, Hillgate Travel, Create Wealth Management and Richard Andrews Architects.

Collectively, we managed to raise a not-too-shabby £230 for St. David’s Hospice, who were thrilled with the donation. St. David’s provide comprehensive palliative care to people facing life limiting illnesses, ensuring that they have the choice to receive care at home, surrounded by friends and family. They have grown to become one of the UK’s largest provider of hospice at home care, caring for over 3,200 patients and their families every year.

If you would like to get involved with organising a Christmas Jolly Jumper day in your place of work or to join the many events that St. David’s Hospice organise, get in touch with them today.

We also made it into The South Wales Argus. Have a look here.
