Game On for HubXV
13th February 2019
Since creating HUB XV’s brand identity in early 2018 we’ve loved watching the company evolve over the past year. The HUB XV business model is all about partnering with sports venues to create unique community workspace environments, utilising unused space and creating networking opportunities. With co-working growing rapidly across the globe and a need for flexible office space we knew they were onto a winner and were eager to jump on board when HUB XV founder, former ex-Welsh rugby international, and one of Claire’s old school friends Alix Popham pitched us the idea (no pun intended).
We were lucky enough to work from the new Sophia Gardens venue in Cardiff back in November, as we ditched the studio for the day to direct HUB’s Cardiff photo shoot, armed with fake IKEA plants, decorative magazines and all of our tech! You might be able to spot a few familiar Parade faces in the HUB photos if you look closely, as we were roped into swapping Adobe Creative Suite for ‘modelling’.
Not only are the HUB spaces unique, they're bright and airy and also have great views, which is something often overlooked that can really add to your working atmosphere. Luckily in our office we have a pretty decent view of Newport from our windows, but at HUB XV we didn’t even have to leave our desks to see the view (win, win). Having joined The Estates Office after a year of starting Parade at home, we also know how valuable a social and inspiring work environment can be to a business, and how separating your home/work environment can help you switch off at the end of the day.
With the photoshoot completed and marketing in place, the second HUB at Cardiff's home to Glamorgan Cricket, Sophia Gardens was ready to open. Having attended the first HUB XV launch at Bath Racecourse and devouring our fair share of canapés and drinks from the free bar all in the name of networking, we were excited to celebrate the launch of the new venue at Sophia Gardens. We were treated to live music and Q&A’s from the likes of Jamie Baulch, Christian Malcolm and Ian Gough and we even did some celeb spotting with Gayle managing to bag a selfie with HUB XV ambassador and Go Compare man himself, Wynne Evans (minus the twirly moustache).
From canapés to chicken tikka, we ended the night at a curry house on City Road to celebrate all of our hard work. It was so nice to attend the launch and we're really excited to continue working with HUB XV on their future HUB venues across the UK!
